EINSTEIN, ALFRED. Two typed notes signed ("A. Einstein") to the poet Thomas McNally in Trenton, New Jersey; Princeton, 9 September and 13 October 1954. Each one page, 4to, on Einstein's blind-embossed letterhead stationery, the second with original stamped envelope, a few pin-holes in margins of second letter.

9 September: "I enjoyed very much reading some of your impressive poems and I would have liked, if time had permitted, to read all of them. I am, of course, glad to give you permission to mention me in your work". 13 October: "I thank you very much for the poem you have sent me. It reminded me of the Bible verse: The will is strong but the flesh is weak." (2)
