MAKER'S MARK OF S. KIRK & SON, BALTIMORE, 1846-1890

Of flaring cylindrical form, on three applied acanthus scroll feet, repousse and chased with vertical bands of scrolls and foliage, the shoulder repousse and chased with similar foliate scrolls, with two acanthus-clad bird's head handles, the hinged domed cover with similar decoration and surmounted by a foliate finial, the interior with separate compartments with half-moon covers with ring handles, marked under base and inside covers--7 3/4in. high
