A CLASSICAL AMBOYNA WOOD TEA CADDY
REGENCY, EARLY 19TH CENTURY

The sarcophagus shape with domed hinged lid inlaid with brass motifs and with a brass stepped rim, opening to reveal a crushed velvet-lined lid and a fitted interior with central circular compartment lined with velvet and holding a hand-cut crystal urn flanked by two removeable brass-inalid stepped compartments with hinged lids, all above a brass-inlaid case with carrying handles, on wooden gilded ball feet, appears to retain original handles (right rear foot replaced)--8 1/4in. high, 15in. wide, 8 1/4in. deep
