Lot Essay

The design and appearance of this table is identical to that of the previous documented example. The only difference between the two is the use of mahogany veneered columns rather than figured maple columns. The methods of construction are also shared, down to the shape of the dovetails and placement of the glue blocks on the underside of the top. These factors indicate that the manufacture of this table and the previous stamped table occurred in the same shop, that of Charles-Honore Lannuier.
