A STAFFORDSHIRE SALTGLAZE ERMINE-GROUND SMALL GLOBULAR TEAPOT AND COVER

With pierced ball finial and crabstock handle and spout, enamelled in colours with a bust-length portrait of Frederick the Great crowned in laurel, within a shaped cartouche, a named banner, above, the reverse with the double-headed eagle holding a banner inscribed Semper Sublimas, a wreath and a sceptre in a cartouche reserved on the ermine ground, Jacobs Collection no. 424 (handle repaired)--3 3/8in. (8.5cm.) high
