Each reclining on mottled ground moulded and painted with blossoms and stepped to resemble a recamier, anthony wearing a silver lustre cuirass, Jacobs Collection no. 226 a&b (Anthony's base cracked, Cleopatra missing the sole of her lrft foot, some minor chipping to bases)--13in. (33cm.) long

Lot Essay
The figure of Anthony is based on that of Rinaldo modelled by Paul-Louis Cyffl for the Luneville Pottery. Cleopatra is based on a Roman marble in the collection of the Albertium, Dresden.
