Scagliola work dating from the 17th century in England is quite rare. Two other known examples of this type of work are both in public collections. A fireplace surround and hearth made for the Duke of Lauderdale are in the Queen's Closet at Ham House, Surrey and bear his cypher and coronet (illustrated in P. Thornton, 'The Furnishing of Ham House', F.H.S.J., 1980, fig. 130). A Charles II side table originally from Warwick Castle is now at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
