Further details
This version of Liberty is based on a reversed image from the Hemicycle by Paul Delaroche, completed in 1841 for the Ecole des Beaux Arts. The head of Liberty was used on an essay for a Confederate 5-Cent stamp. These are the only examples of this version of Liberty and this eagle on U.S. federal paper money. The U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing does not possess an example of this note.
