Of oblong form, the base with a panel of alternating blue and brown translucent enamel on a moire ground, the sides with blue enamel panels, all within borders of trailing flowers in dark blue and white enamel on a light-blue enamel ground, the hinged cover painted with a scene of a classical figure being presented with a horse's bit by a winged putto, marked on interior cover, the cover flange with later French control marks--3 5/8in.(9.2cm.) long
