Of circular form on spreading foot, the base chased with vertical acanthus, the body applied with bands of anthemion and Vitruvian scrolls, with two bifurcating snake-form handles, the domed cover with egg and dart rim and a band of stiff foliage below a calyx of acanthus and surmounted by a leaf-clad pomegranate finial, marked on body and cover--11¼in.(28.5cm.) high
