MAKER'S MARK OF FRANCIS BUTTY & NICHOLAS DUMEE, LONDON, 1772, LACKING ONE BRANCH AND BASKET
On four multi-scroll foliate and bellflower supports terminating in openwork oval rocaille and laurel pads, applied with laurel and ribbon swags below a fluted and waisted standard chased with similar swags above as pierced ovolo band, with removable boat-shaped central basket applied with swags and paterae against continuous piercing under an undulating rim, with two oval cartouches, one engraved with a monogram and one engraved LONDON 1870 with seven acanthus scroll branches supporting four similar circular baskets and three oval examples, marked on base, baskets and three branches--16½in.(42cm.) high
