Lot Essay

The late H.J. Joel was an important breeder and owner and he formed a superb collection of English and French furniture at Childwick Bury in Hertforshire and in his flat in Grosvenor Square. The contents of Childwick Bury were sold by Christie's in May 1978. This table formed part of the contents of his flat which were sold in these Rooms on 17 April 1980
