The convex enamel dial and backplate signed Vauchez A Paris with Roman and Arabic numerals, foliate pierced gilt hour and minute hands, pierced blued steel solar hand and counterpoised sweep center seconds, the four-pillar movement with shaped plates, pin-wheel escapement with gridiron pendulum and calibrated rating nut to the bob, equation hand behind the engraved calender wheel with blued pointer beneath the dial, the movement affixed to the four-pillar bracket on the backboard and with endless rope pulley wheels, the spreading rectangular case with glazed sides and surmounted by the figure of Chronos, the cove molding cast with chandelles on a plinth and bracket feet (some mounts associated)--94in. high
