LONNIE SUMMERS' MEXICAN LEAGUE UNIFORM
A full flannel uniform of the 1948 Mexico City team of the Mexican League including a jersey, pants, socks, and stirrups. The uniform was worn by former Negro League player Lonnie Summers who inscribed the collar as follows: Lonnie Summers - 3 home runs and double - drove in eleven runs and hits two homers against Pasqual - hit one and double- the 11 runs was against Torreon Mexico 1948 - The Teams Treavel [sic] Chi. A. Giants, Baltimore Elite - Negro Leagues. Team in Mexico- Mexico City Reds - Tampico. Summers, a catcher in the 1950 Negro League All-Star game, played on the same team as Ray Dandridge, whose Hall of Fame portrait is in an identical uniform. In excellent condition.
