A SILVER CENTERPIECE BOWL ON STAND, maker's mark of Gorham, 1926, the compressed circular bowl on spreading circular base chased with stiff leaf strap divided by bellflower, the everted down curled rim pierced with lozenges overlaid with floral swags, divided by ivy and vacant oval cartouches, with berried laurel rim--11¼in. (28.5cm.) diam., the molded circular stand with dished plain center, the broad conforming border further enhanced with griffin flanked floral cartouches and cherub flanked vacant cartouches, with lush, undulating scrolling foliage, and floral strap dividers--16½in.
