A GEORGE III SILVER EPERGNE, Birmingham, maker's mark of Matthew Boulton & Plate Co., either 1803 or 1813, the four tapering columnar fluted standards terminating in lion's paw feet, enclosed elongated quatrefoil frame centering oval frame flat chased with palmette calyx and surmounted by artichoke finial, the sides issuing four detachable reeded scroll branches to the sweetmeat basket circular frame, the central bowl oval frame with applied faceted bead band--10¼in.
