A GEORGE III SILVER TEA CADDY, London, 1788, maker's mark of William Abdy I, oval with squared corners, bright cut engraving, two sides with vacant shield form cartouche, stylized floral engraved and wrigglework borders, decorated corners, applied beaded rims, with key hold, the part raised hinged cover with conforming decoration and topped by oval bone finial--5½in. (13.9cm.) high, gross weight 15.5oz.
