PAIR OF RETRO DIAMOND AND SIMULATED RUBY CLIPS
Each designed as a pavé diamond scroll, extending baguette, old European-cut diamond and oval-cut simulated ruby sprays, mounted in white metal (several diamonds missing)
Signed by Seaman Schepps
When his Madison Avenue salon opened in 1934, Seaman Schepps was already recognized as one of America's most innovative jewelers. More concerned with the look and design of jewelry it was not unusual for Mr. Schepps to combine colorful genuine and synthetic stones. Original carvings together with precious and semi-precious stones made his designs unique from the other jewelers of his day (see lots 260, 266, 271 and 364). While he is most well known for creating a stunning pair of earrings from simple sea shells, his flair for creating jewels from these very special combinations of materials have guaranteed Seaman Schepps a place among the great American jewelers.
