The binder's label of Archibald Loudon reads: "Books bound in the neatest Manner, at the cheapest Rates, and with the Greatest Expedition, by Archibald Loudon in Carlisle." Loudon is not mentioned in French Early American Bookbinding by Hand, Lehmann-Haupt Bookbinding in America, or the Grolier Club Catalogue of...Bookbindings in America prior to 1850.
