Lot Essay

Annie Davis and her husband Bill hosted Hemingway at their estate near Malaga, La Consula, during the Summer and Fall of 1959. It was this visit to Spain, following the Bullfighters Ordonez and Dominquin, which inspired The Dangerous Summer (first published in 1960 in Life magazine). An outstanding association copy.
