Lot Essay

This dummy copy has a binding which differs from the final published edition, as well as variations in titlepage design and layout of the text. The copyright page has been left blank, and following the titlepage is a statement regarding the illustrations: "There will be numerous half-tone illustrations in black and 15 in full color." This dummy copy has a dust jacket which has both the spine and front cover similar to the final published dust jacket, but leaves the rear panel and flaps unprinted. Preserved in quarter morocco slipcase.
