A RUSSIAN SILVER MENORAH, maker's mark of A. Riedel, St. Petersburg, 1893, assaymaster unknown, rectangular on four foliate scroll bracket feet, with shaped rounded rectangular back plate, the platform with floral swag gallery, applied with eight eagle form supports to the baluster oil fonts, the further end applied each side with lion rampant clawing a palm tree, centering eight applied twisted rods supporting a rooster, an eagle atop a sphere, a hen and a reindeer (one figure lacking), the back plate applied with two columns centering a menorah, within chased foliate scroll and floral borders, and topped by lion supported crown issuing flowers, the reverse with hanging clip --11¾in. (29.8cm.) high, 27.5oz.
