A GEORGE II SILVER TEA KETTLE, STAND AND LAMP, maker's mark of John Payne, London, 1751, the inverted pear form kettle on rim foot, the collar finely engraved with undulating reeded scrolls, flowers, shells and diaperwork, with part foliate clad scroll spout, part raffia covered, foliate clad, multi scroll handle with shell joins, the raised hinged cover topped by compressed wood button finial, the circular stand on four shell and leaf capped scroll supports, with pierced apron and collar, with applied corded rim, all centering plain burner with detachable cover--burner cover unmarked--kettle on stand over swing handle 15in. (38cm.) high, gross weight 55oz.
