In the 1920s there were three Ps in the luxury car field - Packard, Peerless and Pierce-Arrow; today there are many who believe that the Pierce-Arrow was one of the greatest American cars ever produced. By 1923 sales were dropping, so a smaller car, the Model 80, was introduced to augment the larger models. Though smaller, the highest quality was maintained to live up to the reputation of its predecessors; it was a less expensive alternative to the top of the line models, and sales increased by 37 per cent.

There is a full history of the Pierce-Arrow and a comprehensive care and operations manual with this car, which was donated to the museum in 1984 by John Downing Jr. of Dallas. The restoration is in need of attention as the Pierce has sat in storage for a few years. There are some minor dents in the fenders, and paint is flaking from the bodywork in a few places. The headliner needs to be completely replaced as it has many moth holes. This car is accepted by the Classic Car Club of America.
