Red with black interior

Engine: four cylinder, Crosley "Cobra"

Like the full size Midget race cars, the 3/4 Midgets were usually fitted with modified production engines. The 3/4 racing class had restrictions on the size of engine, car length, wheel size - however tyre size was not restricted and often changed up or down instead of changing the gearing.

This 3/4 Midget race car is a one-off designed and built by Mr Lloyd Keeley. Keeley was very active in Central U.S. 3/4 midget class and built this car by hand for competition. He utilised a Crosley frame and Cobra engine both of which were modified. The fibreglass body and aluminium grill were custom. Upon completion Keeley raced extensively. There is a cassette tape interview with Lloyd Keeley in which he estimates he won 50-75 races with this car. Eventually the 3/4 Midget ended up in Texas and was donated to the museum by Mr. Larry Jeter of Lubbock, Texas in 1981.
