LIMITED EDITION, one of 200 numbered copies on Van Gelder, of an edition of 1100, signed by Dreiser and Fawcett.
[Laid in first volume:] Autograph Letter Signed ("Theodore Dreiser") to Benjamin Tuska. New York, 29 December 1922. 1 1/2 pages on 8vo sheet and oblong 12mo card; with original addressed envelope. "...The cable-gram interests me and I am obliged to you. It is actually in keeping with Yerkes--the most interesting of all the American financiers I have studied. He was all that your cable-gram says. Thanks...The book [another work] is not written though I am prepared to write it." On a separate card he writes: "The cablegram referred to read 'An adroit, merciless, unscrupulous man. Will hold to a written contract.' It was dispatched circa 1900."
