Between September 1918 and February 1919, Babe Ruth, age twenty four, was employed by American Iron and Steel (now Bethlehem Steel). On September 30, 1918, Ruth batted fourth and played first base for Lebanon, Pa. against a team of All-Stars managed by Sherry Magee. This is an orginal photograph of that team with Ruth in a Lebanon uniform accompanied by a newspaper article about Ruth and the Lebanon team.
