A VICTORIAN FIVE PIECE SILVER TEA AND COFFEE SERVICE ON A MATCHING TWO HANDLED TRAY, maker's mark of Martin & Hall, London, 1876, kettle 1881, the tray maker's mark of John E. Bingham, Sheffield, 1877, all engraved underneath base A Meed Brough 1882, comprising tea kettle, stand and lamp, teapot, coffee pot, two handled sugar bowl and cream jug, each vase form on acanthus chased base, repeated on the collar, the body engraved with arcade arabesque panels divided by pendant floral clusters, one enclosing engraved crest and motto, with matted geometric band above, the pots with partly reeded and foliate clad scroll handle and spout, the hinged part engraved, partly low domed cover topped by acanthus bud finial--kettle on stand over fixed handle 19in. (48.2cm.) high, high, the broadly scalloped shaped oval tray on four supports, the ground engraved with stars, stylized foliage and paterae at intervals, centering crest and motto, with molded border, applied foliate, paterae and reeded rim, with two angular handles--length over handles 29in. (73.6cm.), gross weight 302oz. (6)
