A PAIR OF CHINESE IMARI JARDINIÈRES
EARLY 18TH CENTURY

Each painted with an allover pattern of very large lotus pods, buds and blooms growing from vines trailing long feathery fronds, a band of iron-red flame around the base and the rim with underglaze blue crosshatch above a moulded band of gilt and iron-red flowerheads (tiny frits, some glaze cracks and crazing, slight wear throughout)--16¾in. (42.5cm.) diam. (2)
