"As I copy the article or essay on the typewriter from the notes, I of course make innumerable changes which I cannot read for myself. I have the copy read to me over and over; but it is almost impossible for me to carry the whole of it in my head... I have also attempted to answer questions, especially those about smell and color, which are constantly asked by people who are particularly interested in the powers of the mind and its relation to the physical world."
