Lot Essay

A cousin of the noted sculptor Roland Hinton Perry, Clio Bracken studied in Paris under Frederick MacMonnies. The present model is perhaps a simplified version of her 'Rubaiyat Bowl', an example of which was exhibited in Buffalo under the auspices of the National Sculpture Society in 1909.
