MAE WEST
An original 1946 Lloyd's of London insurance policy for "all risk jewelry and fur" at the Ravenswood apartment location. Lists and describes over eleven pieces of jewelry and fifteen furs for a total of $80,000 for which Ms. West paid a premium of $677.44; it was widely reported that in the early 1940s Mae West sold much of her jewelry and donated the money to support the war effort. Includes a letter to Mae West dated October 1941 from the Royal Air Force in which they wish to present her with a live-saving jacket named after her. (2)
