The legend reads: A party of the Apaches were in the high mountains in the Apache country for the spring harvest of the mescal. At the sudden approach of a storm all hurriedly mounted and rode away to the protection of the forest in the valley below. All of this is wonderfully visualized by the action in the picture. One seems to actually see the swaying of the Yucca and the windblown hair of the Indian women.
