A CELADON VESSEL
KORYO DYNASTY (12TH/13TH CENTURY)

The body of ovoid form on a tall, splayed foot with high, cylindrical neck rising to a very slightly flared rim, modelled about the shoulder with two loop rings, a third now missing, incised around the base of the neck with a ring of linked rui and on opposing sides of the body with a large lotus medallion, covered overall with a light green celadon glaze pooling slightly at the base of the neck and with random crackle, the glaze slightly brown across one medallion and above the foot- 4 3/4 in. (11.9 cm. high), one handle restored, nick below rim
