Park Soo-Gun was born in Jang Gu in Kangwon Province and graduated from the province's local school in 1932. In the period 1932-44 he showed his paintings in Seoul at the "Sun" exhibition, and between 1953-64 at the "National" exhibition also in Seoul. He taught art in 1945 at the Kum Sung Girl's high school.

In the United States his work was included in the "East and West" exhibition in San Francisco in 1957, and in the "Korean Modern Art" exhibition at the World House Gallery in New York in 1958. In 1959 he showed in the "Modern Artists" exhibition sponsored by the Chosun Ilbo newspaper in Seoul.
