Kim Wha-Kyung was born in Seoul and graduated from the Tokyo Art School in 1944. His work was shown at the "Sun" exhibition, and at the "National" exhibition in Seoul in 1970. From 1965-66 he was a director of the Korean Art Association. He also taught at Sou Do University. The artist's favorite subject was winter landscapes such as the painting offered here.
