Lot Essay

Park Sung-Hwan studied fine arts at the Tokyo Cultural Center. From 1950-87 he had twenty-seven one-person exhibitions, and showed paintings in the "National" exhibitions in Korea from 1959-79. Some of his notable solo exhibitions include his 1973 Tokyo Gallery show, and an exhibition sponsored in 1979 by the National Museum of Modern Art in Seoul. His work was also shown at the Korean Cultural Center in Tokyo in 1987.
