Lot Essay

Oh Seung-Woo graduated from Cho Sun University in Korea. He participated in the government-sponsored "National" exhibition during the years 1950-60. In 1973 his work was shown in the exhibition "One Hundred Korean Modern Artists" in Seoul. .

Several books devoted to the work of Oh Seung-Woo have been published including Landscape Paintings in Europe in 1976, and Landscape and Animals of Africa in 1982. Oh Seung-Woo won the May 16th National Culture Award in 1972 and he received the Seoul City Cultural Award in 1990.
