In 1935 Clement Talbot Ltd was acquired by the Rootes group. Their decision to phase out these famous cars and replace them with a 10hp car and a three-litre was greatly disapproved of by Talbot devotees, but shortly afterwards the name was changed to Sunbeam-Talbot in order to capitalize on the famous histories of these two marques.
The legacy of the names Talbot and Sunbeam to the Rootes group was minimal. The Talbot Ten and Three-Litre were restyled versions of the Hillman Minx and Humber Snipe. In 1938 these cars were re-announced as Sunbeam-Talbots.

This very original example is thought to have had just three owners from new, the present owner inheriting it from his uncle. He has decided to sell it on behalf of his church building fund. It had been laid up for the past 15 years in a garage, however it has recently been made to run (the gearbox was removed and the clutch freed off) and drives quite nicely. Underneath the car generally seems very sound indeed considering the age of the vehicle and any restoration work should be relatively straightforward.
