Of vase-shaped form, on spreading circular foot raised on a square pedestal base, the body applied on each side with an oval ribbon cartouche enclosing a classical figure, below an applied band of flowerheads within Vitruvian scrolls, with wood scroll handle and hinged domed cover surmounted by an oval wood finial, marked under base and on cover--11 3/4in. (29.7cm.) high
