Of shaped oval form, raised on four scrolling acanthus feet from which emerge figures of horses, the frosted rim cast in high relief and formed of running horses amid swirling acanthus leaves, with two openwork handles each formed as a tied floral garland, the field engraved with a coat of arms, crest and motto within scrolling foliage, marked on reverse, also stamped B. SMITH DUKE ST. LINN. INN FIELDS--length over handles 37 3/4 in. (95.9 cm.)
