A VICTORIAN SILVER SEVEN-LIGHT CANDELABRUM
LONDON, 1846, MAKER'S MARK OF JOHN S. HUNT
On a shaped triangular base realistically formed as rocks and falling water, rising to three figures of dolphins with entwined tails, applied on one side with a cast rococo cartouche, surmounted by a baluster form standard chased with waves and scrolls and supporting a foliate urn-form socket with removable branches formed as three scrolling leaf arms each splitting into two reeded leaf-clad supports holding a wax-pan and an urn-form socket fitted with a removable silver nozzle and a plated inner nozzle, the base cartouche engraved with a coat of arms, crest and motto, marked on base, central candle support, wax-pans, and nozzles; base also stamped HUNT & ROSKELL LATE STORR MORTIMER & HUNT--29 in. (73.6 cm.) high
