Of circular form, on a circular base with acanthus and laurel moldings raised on four stylized paw feet and surmounted by four figural supports each formed as a female figure in classical dress upholding a circular molding with grapevine, the bowl applied at the lower body with bands of acanthus and waterleaf, with two laurel-wreath open handles issuing from sheep's heads, the domed circular cover applied with a calyx of acanthus and waterleaf surmounted by a seated female figure in classical dress holding a sheaf of wheat and with a scythe, the base and cover applied with monogram MJC below a crown, the interior fitted with a liner with two ring handles, marked on base, bowl, cover, finial and liner--15 in. (38.2 cm.) high
