A BENIN BRASS STAFF OF OFFICE, 19TH CENTURY

With long blade decocated with stipple and floral reliefs emerging from the mouths of a Janus crocodile head above which is a round shaft with eight sections showing alternating geometric patterns, surounted by a standing figure holding a similar staff in the right hand, a scabbard in the left, and wearing a skirt, a coral choker and a large hat with a spherical top, polished yellow color.
