Sold with a certificate from Max Friedländer dated Amsterdam, Jan. 4, 1950 as Rubens, and photostats of certificates from Dr. W.R. Valentiner dated Los Angeles, Feb. 16, 1955 and Professor Julius Held dated New York, Feb. 12, 1955, both as Rubens. Held dates the present lot to circa 1615-17 and suggests that the subject is probably an apostle
