A RÉGENCE GILTWOOD SIDE TABLE
CIRCA 1720, POSSIBLY GERMAN

With serpentine moulded grey and rose striated marble top above a conforming frieze centrally pierced with fruiting foliage issuing further foliate C- and S-scrolls against a lozenge-incised ground, the sides similarly pierced and carved, with hipped cabriole legs carved with blossoming foliage at the knees above entwining garlands joined by a shaped similarly carved stretcher centering a bold foliate-pierced C- scrolls carved with flowerheads and flanked by similar devices ending in bold scroll feet (regilt)-35¼in. (90cm.) high, 81in. (206cm.) wide, 32in. (81cm.) deep
