A LARGE MEISSEN MANTEL-CLOCK modelled as a shaped column of rocks with a circular case applied with a multitude of flowers and moulded with rococo-scrolls, the giltmetal face inset with blue and white enamel numbers, surmounted by Jupiter seated on clouds suffused with gilt lightning darts, the base modelled with two allegorical figures, age being fettered by youth, on five scrolling feet applied with flowers (tip of sceptre in Jupiter's right hand lacking, chips to extremities), blue crossed swords mark, incised No 1047., circa 1860
