An oil study for this work entitled On the Saw Mill River, New York and painted in 1885 is in the collection of the Newington-Cropsey Foundation. This painting will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of the artist's work, which is being prepared by the Newington-Cropsey Foundation, Hastings-on-Hudson.
