The Alphabetical Index of Wills records "An inventory & appraisement of all the persone estate & Offices of all Eli Brearley late of Warley Mill x carpenter taken and valued this 23rd day April 1788" followed by a short list of effects including "clock and case, Candlesticks knives and fork working tools (1.14.0" together with a short statement "Know all men etc.....Mary Brearley widow and relect....Eli Brearley late of Warley in Diocese of York Mill Carpenter...."
