The Wedgwood archives record that this service was ordered for Sir Edward Dering; an inverified entry in the Crest Book Index records the first order was in 1802, a second order was placed through Thomas Hyde on February 16th, 1832, the entry reading 'Emblem black - broad & fine red line with crest. Sir Edward Dering. Blk horse crown red velvet green'. We are grateful to Gaye Blake Roberts for kindly providing this information.
